Clinicians associated with the Sydney Melanoma Unit treat patients in several hospitals within the Sydney metropolitan area.
Treatment in your area
Melanoma services in northern and western Sydney provide local patients with assessment, surgery, radiation and medical oncology services, in accordance with treatment protocols of the SMU. All patients are, with their permission, entered into the SMU database and, as required, their treatment is discussed at the weekly multidisciplinary meeting. The benefit is that the treating specialists and clinical details come to the SMU, while the patient can be treated closer to home.
Please note, individual clinicians are each associated with different hospitals. Most of the hospitals provide facilities for surgery and technical procedures, whilst patient consultations are undertaken in individual clinicians offices or at Gloucester House, Missenden Road, Camperdown.
