Title: A randomised clinical trial of surgery versus surgery plus adjuvant radiotherapy for regional control in patients with completely resected macroscopic nodal metastatic melanoma.
Lay Summary: This is a two-armed randomised trial in patients with nodal metastatic melanoma with no other evidence of active melanoma but who are at significant risk of regional relapse following surgical resection.
The study is designed test the hypothesis that there is a difference in regional relapse rates (recurrence) for patients undergoing complete surgical resection of macroscopic (palpable) nodal metastatic melanoma alone compared with patients receiving complete surgical resection followed by adjuvant radiotherapy.
