Cancer patients should be given the opportunity to participate in clinical trials that offer new forms of cancer treatment. Patients who participate in clinical trials have been shown to gain increased survival rates and improved outcomes over patients who are offered routine therapy.

At the Sydney Melanoma Unit we aim to ensure at least 10% of our melanoma patients are participating in clinical trials by offering trials for Stage II, III and IV disease.
